Either toss a coin or ask someone else to decide for you. I find that helps a great deal.
While I was at Kentwell last week I lost my favourite spoon. It turned up again but it highlighted the need to have A Spare, and necessetated a decision as to which of the two smallest spoons on offer to buy. I gave up and asked a fellow participant (lucylu_is) to decide for me.
