A case of minor angst
Jan. 22nd, 2004 01:05 pmDuring the past fall, I did some self studies on the bus commuting to work to be able to participate in Irish-language talk group meetings, initiated by a graduate student of Old Irish here in Uppsala. However, after a while I found I had to start doing some serious writing exercises to learn the grammar properly, and when I reached that point I stopped completely.
That would require me to sit down at home doing exercises; browsing texts on the bus ain't good enough, and I'm almost incapable of doing things when I get home other than sitting down in front of the Mac. So now I'm losing the Irish again, and I'm reluctant to go to those meetings. Moreover, the work burden in the office is quite heavy right now, so I don't really have the time either. Bother.
I wish I were more disciplined.
