Music & dice
Feb. 26th, 2004 09:48 amWe went down last Saturday to fetch the vinyl and also brought with us a few VHS cassettes and six book cases. Jay wants to know what gems we have found. I'll catalogue them some day, and then you'll all know (and we too).
There are four different complete recordings of Wagner's Ring. Some ten Povel Ramel records. Some dozen records with early music. A collection of Sonora songs - "Sånger som bedåra - Sonora 1939-1949". Hasse & Tage revues. Hemma hos Kjell Alinge och Janne Forssell 1 & 2. A lot of Satchmo, Ella Fitzgerald, and Billie Holliday. A great number of recordings of famous tenors, especially Jussi Björling. Scott Joplin. That's off the top of my head. I've unpacked about 2000 records at the moment.
We've also looked at a new stereo set. We're probably going to buy:
Speakers: DALI Blue 8008
Amplifier: NAD C320BEE
CD player: NAD C521BEE
Vinyl player: NAD 533
The vinyl player will be a birthday present from my in-laws.
And tomorrow I'm heading off for Gothenburg for two days of intensive roleplaying in Christian's Riddermark campaign, where our brave Rohirric warriors die like flies in face of nebulous traitors and blood-thirsty orcs while we the players quaff beer and make raunchy jokes.
