It rained the day the GUFF result came in

The results came in this morning and [livejournal.com profile] ang_grrr won with an overwhelming majority. I am of course a little bit of disappointed with not having won myself, but only very little. Realistically I never thought I had much of a chance when I learned who the other candidates were. But it was fun standing, I've been in the fannish limelight, and the winner is extremely deserving as far as I can tell.

And it rained the whole night and morning. Definitely needed, it's been far too dry here and the Walpurgis bonfires can't be lit on the 30th if it's too dry.

Condolences, Jophan. You did a good job of promoting the fund with your race, so you deserve kudos too.

Thanks! GUFF and TAFF are basically UK/Ireland<->Australia and UK/Ireland<->USA fan funds, and there's nothing wrong with that. And I knew it. The race raised the awareness in Sweden about GUFF and gave me and Åka some egoboo, so I have no reason to complain. As soon as I knew that the other candidates were Brits and then that the short race would coincide with Eastercon, I knew I didn't stand a chance, so the disappointment part is very small. I had the pleasure of receiving support from non-Scandinavian fans like yourself - thanks for that, it warmed! And Ang proved such a popular choice that she would have beat any fan who stood against her, Brit or not.

I had fun, it was for a good cause, and I didn't have anything to lose. I'd do it again! :)
