Counting down

It's fascinating, really. Statistically, the Swedish population grows by roughly one person every fifteen minutes. Based on this fact, the Swedish National Bureau of Statistics has predicted that today is the day when the population will reach nine million. The counting down can be seen "live" here: Befolkningsklocka.

It seems that Safari can't handle the page properly. I am told that we are now 1,445,215 Swedes. (Internet Explorer returns the more sensible result of 8,999,992.)

Huh. We appear to be at roughly the same population density. (Very roughly.)
